Mozambique Part Three

For the final day at camp we finished off with a skit called "Jesus and Me" which reminded the kids that they need to have God in every part of their lives and that they cannot just follow Him when it is convient for them.

We then had a final contest where the teams went around eating from a tart that did not set properly. After the winning team had been revealed (The Blue Mambas) we said good bye to the campers and helped them load away.

mmmmmmm

The whole group of campers and staff

We played Apples to Apples as we waited for their transport
Although the campers were gone, our staff was still around and we enjoyed some quiet fellowship on the beach for a day and a half before we also left.
Before we had our staff meeting there were mice to be killed in one of the houses
The mosquitoes preferred certain people over others

All of those dot looking things are crabs

The infamous Blue Bottle jellyfish

We stopped at a market on the way out and met some of the worst bargainers in all of Mozambique. They were charging nearly twice as much for their product as the booth next to them and they would not come down on their price at all!

I was unable to purchase this groovy set of clothing due to the owner demanding astronomically high prices. I did get a nice pair of traditional African pant from a much more reasonable lady.
In our last full day in Mozambique we were able to see what the Word of Life missionaries there do on a more regular basis. We had a meeting at a nearby church where we basically held a youth group meeting. Many churches in the area are aware of Word of Life but do not use the club program. So they invited the leadership from several local churches in the area and showed them what a Word of Life club is really like by having a theme, a message, and game time.

This pastor and I were able to communicate by using broken English, Zulu, French and Portuguese since we did not both fluently know the same language.

The theme of the afternoon was the doctors office as Carlos spoke about spiritual growth.

After this we spent a final night and hit the road the next morning. After an uneventful 12 or so hour ride we were back in Johannesburg missing Mozambique but grateful for the chance we all had to serve our God.

Note: I did not take most of the pictures from any of the Mozambique posts and I thank Miriam and Bibiana for sharing their pictures with me!
