This Week

Image
This past week has been one of both jolly old times and regretful news. This Baby is Jolly The Blessing of Nature This week has been jolly because I am first off far more blessed by God than I ever deserve and am growing in His abundant grace. I was blessed this week especially by the beginning of break from online classes. Being able to continue my education is great, but everyone enjoys a break from the mundane reading and deadlines hanging over your head. I was blessed recently by getting Rosetta Stone in the mail to learn Portuguese, I will be able to spend more time learning Portuguese now. The Phone I wish I could talk on This week I also had the rare opportunity to talk to Mr. Matt Melville on the phone. It was great to be able to talk to one of the head men at the HQ however he had some news that was less stellar. Due to lack of monthly supporters I will not be able to depart in January. My new target date has been moved to March, it is depressing that I will not b

Blessings From God

In the past 2 weeks since my last update it has been a busy time that God has blessed. Shortly after posting the last update I was contacted by several people who wished to support my ministry. God has brought my total to up to $1,902.50! Tomorrow night I will have an opportunity to go to a friends church and help out with a kids event there. The kids will be raising some support for my ministry! I was also able to see some friends from the BI who now work at a local church This last weekend. On Saturday we were able to go caroling at two nursing homes. When I was a kid I did not like to go to nursing homes or to go caroling because I am not musically inclined. I had a lot of fun this time and was glad to be able to minister with close friends. God has also blessed me because I have picked up more hours at work, and Liberty classes end this week! Please pray for me to be a good example to those I work with. Please also pray for my health and support. I have gotten the flu twice thi

Faith and Prayer

Here is a PICTURE UPDATE on my support as of November 30, 2010 (please click on it to enlarge). As you can see there are lots of nice graphs up there. Incase if you are the type of person who does not like graphs and thinks they are silly, here is a WORD UPDATE. I have currently received $1,448, also if I keep on receiving the average amount from the first 3 months each month for the next two years i will have 37% of my support. Tomorrow is December 1st which leaves a little over a month left before I am scheduled to leave. If you have not yet supported me and you want to or even if you don't want to PLEASE PRAY ABOUT IT. God will provide what I need but will you please let him use you!? All I ask is that you would pray about giving, the need is urgent in South Africa for the Gospel, if you are unable to give then please remember to pray for the missionaries currently in South Africa, and for myself to be diligent and faithful. Super Superbowl Part 2

I am enthused when I can 1. Stay up all night 2. Influence kids for Christ and see them get saved 3. Have fun! When all of these things are combined the result is a SUPERBOWL!! The Thursday before Thanksgiving I got a message from my friend Janelle. Her dad is the Word of Life Missionary for the northern PA region. She told me about how there was a Superbowl going on in southern New York and they were short staffed. I quickly accepted the challenge to help, enlisted the help of some courageous Bible Institute students and prepared... My schedule for that weekend was as follows: Work-6am-2pm Drive to Binghamton Superbowl-2:30pm-5:30pm Superbowl Action-5:31pm-2:30am Required Sleep Time-2:31am-6:30am Driving Home-6:30am-11am Work-12pm-5pm After work I met some brave BI students Andrew, Austin, Chris and Graham and we journey together to the far away land of Binghamton. At the Superbowl I  was able to talk with kids after the Salvation message and talk over with them the decisi

Super Superbowl!

This past Friday as I was fighting traffic on my way home through rush hour traffic I saw an uncommon sight: Jonathan Koduru sitting on the steps of my local hockey area. I whipped the car around (at the first safe location to do so of course) and drove back to see what he was doing. As it turned out Word of Life was having a Superbowl close to where I live, and it just so turned out that I LOVE Superbowls, it just so turned out that I had NOTHING to do that night, and it just so turned out that more HELP was needed! So I went home told my mother I loved her and went back for a wild night. At this point I will explain what a Superbowl is for those who were thinking " I thought the Superbowl was on Sunday, and I thought it was in like Febuary??" If you are aware of what a Superbowl is feel free to skip to the next paragraph. A Word of Life Superbowl is an all night event that consists of several wild extravaganzas that churches get kids together to go to. First off there is

Meeting

As I mentioned in my news letter I had the opportunity to meet with John Page who is the missionary that I will be working/living with while in South Africa. He was in the US for the month of October and was able to stop in at my house. While he was over I told him a little about my self and poured questions on him. I will mostly be doing Bible Clubs in Churches and doing Camp with them. They do clubs in various Churches, visiting some every week and others semi-monthly depending on how solid their club system is. In South Africa there is no "Youth Pastor" and one of the things John Page has been doing is training up youth pastors to focus on the youth of Africa. While theses people are in training, myself and John Cottier (the guy I will be going to South Africa with) will be filling the spot of the youth pastor as well as training the new one. The person who is in training will be living in the same room as me dorm style, so it will be an intense 24 hour ministry. In Sout

For the past few days I have been working hard on a newsletter to send out and update all the people who want one. Well its done now and special thanks to Dale for helping out a lot with it! I will post more about it very soon...I promise

Word Of Life

Honestly sometimes calling people on the phone asking for support is not the funnest thing in the world, neither is sitting around the house doing nothing just waiting for jobs to call back or for support to roll in. One thing that is fun though is visiting friends and making the most out of where you are. This last Wednesday I went up to Word of Life to visit my friends who work and go to college there. It could of potentially been an extreme waste of time if i had not done anything while i was up there to further my ministry. Thanks to an excellent suggestion from my good friend Dale i printed off 20 of my prayer and support letters and handed them out while the students were in required study hours. I also did this for Dale because he came up with the suggestion and we have many mutual friends. This was not difficult at all and actually was quite fun. Most students at the Bible Institute do not get prayer letters from their good friends because they get mailed to their home address

hello and welcome to the world famous blog of kyle. just in case if you have not heard: Lord willing around mid january i will be leaving for south africa for 2 years. while there i will be working with some word of life missionaries working in churches and helping new christians have a better relationship with Christ. however before i can go i must raise enough money to live while i am over there expenses include rent, taxes, food, plane tickets, etc. after adding all of this up the total is $1,300 per month that i am over there and approx. $3,400 for set up before i go. currently i am living at home and seeking a job i am also taking classes thru liberty online and i will continue to take them during my trip to africa (this is funded by me! if you donate money it will not go towards liberty classes) the primary purpose of this blog is to keep people who are praying and supporting me updated more often than newsletters and a way for you all to see more pictures. if you would like more
