Missions Conference

Currently I am at the Word of Life Bible Institute for the annual Missions Conference! I am here with 18 other Word of Life Interns, we are all going to different countries for 2 years with Word of Life.  While we are here we are having practical training classes for how to adapt to a new culture and what we need to be doing when we move to a new country. I am also working on a third news letter to send out. We are living with the students in the dorms and going to meetings with them as well. While we are here we have the chance to hear speakers like Tom Mahairas, Ron Bishop, and Kris Stout. It is a time that we can focus on getting things done and not be distracted.

Things have been going well for support as there is now $2,887.50 raised towards my trip with about $300 coming in monthly. Please continue to pray for support to come in as I am heavily dependent upon The Lord to bring it all in. I do not have a definite date set yet but a tentative date is set for March 23rd. I will be updating soon to give you some more information about South Africa and the ministry there.

In April we drove many hours south of Johannesburg to visit the gorgeous Drakensberg mountains. Translated into English from Afrikaans meaning "dragon mountains" were formerly occupied by a swarm of dragons until the late 14th century when colonists drove them away using ivory swords. It seemed to us to be a good idea to go hike there and to recover some dragon fossils. Our group just before we began the hike As we stopped to replenish our supplies (aka get petrol(aka gasoline)) we saw a Ford GT40, which so happens to be my fathers favorite car. Super Superbowl!

This past Friday as I was fighting traffic on my way home through rush hour traffic I saw an uncommon sight: Jonathan Koduru sitting on the steps of my local hockey area. I whipped the car around (at the first safe location to do so of course) and drove back to see what he was doing. As it turned out Word of Life was having a Superbowl close to where I live, and it just so turned out that I LOVE Superbowls, it just so turned out that I had NOTHING to do that night, and it just so turned out that more HELP was needed! So I went home told my mother I loved her and went back for a wild night. At this point I will explain what a Superbowl is for those who were thinking " I thought the Superbowl was on Sunday, and I thought it was in like Febuary??" Friday Update: African Mysteries

Due to the way that Africa is generally portrayed in movies, TV show and other forms of media it is easy to think that is is a wasteland filled with man-eating creatures and devoid of any form of technology.  I present to you a picture of Johannesburg, the city I lived in for the past 2 years and Lord willing will be returning too in the near future! This past week God has blessed me with 3 meetings with pastors and many opportunities to serve in New York. I was able to help the "Ranch Posse" (a camp promotion team) on Saturday by promoting the Ranch and Ranger camp to a local city.
