Long Time

Well its been a long long time since I have posted on this here blog. And yes I realize how cliche this is for me to start off a blog post this way. The reason I suppose as to why I have not been posting is because I spend wayyy too much time on the computer and I am frankly quite sick of it. However I should not allow my precious blog to suffer on account of my laziness and fear of the machine. Nevertheless here is the grand reopening of the famous African Paradis.


Lately I have been challenged immensely through God's Word and talking with friends. I realized that I was fearing man more than God, that I don't trust God enough and that I am awful at loving others. I am still working on these things but I would like to say that I have made some progress these past weeks.

I have also been working on my time management as my responsibilities have been increasing, and I am still taking online classes. I discovered that if i don't have fun I will go crazy and if I don't do my work then my work does not get done! I am finding the balance with that now.

There are also a TON of pictures and things that will be coming up soon! However due to the way that the internet works in South Africa I wont be able to post pictures until the beginning of September.

In April we drove many hours south of Johannesburg to visit the gorgeous Drakensberg mountains. Translated into English from Afrikaans meaning "dragon mountains" were formerly occupied by a swarm of dragons until the late 14th century when colonists drove them away using ivory swords. It seemed to us to be a good idea to go hike there and to recover some dragon fossils. Our group just before we began the hike As we stopped to replenish our supplies (aka get petrol(aka gasoline)) we saw a Ford GT40, which so happens to be my fathers favorite car. Super Superbowl!

This past Friday as I was fighting traffic on my way home through rush hour traffic I saw an uncommon sight: Jonathan Koduru sitting on the steps of my local hockey area. I whipped the car around (at the first safe location to do so of course) and drove back to see what he was doing. As it turned out Word of Life was having a Superbowl close to where I live, and it just so turned out that I LOVE Superbowls, it just so turned out that I had NOTHING to do that night, and it just so turned out that more HELP was needed! So I went home told my mother I loved her and went back for a wild night. At this point I will explain what a Superbowl is for those who were thinking " I thought the Superbowl was on Sunday, and I thought it was in like Febuary??" Mozambique Part Two

Most of the rest of the week was quite typical of a Word of Life run camp so I will not delve into great detail but just in case if you are not familiar with camps and/or Word of Life I will give a quick run down and then lots of pictures.  Each day is filled with games, meeting and eating. My primary task was to run the games, we played many different games throughout the camp which will be further described by the photos below.
